shoe dreams

I'm drooling over these Coach flats right now. I normally don't peruse many designer websites, but a pair of their new flats caught my eye in a store the other day, and I was curious about the rest of the new collection. I love the moccasin look of this pair... they look so comfy!

I desperately want to go spring and summer shoe shopping, but the lack of a job and steady income prohibit such a shopping trip... And when I do get a job, I'm implementing a strict financial plan with set limits on how much shopping I can do every month. Brent and my mother seem to think that I should avoid shopping altogether; however, I've tried that before, and it just doesn't work. As with dieting, going cold turkey only leads to a binge that undoes all the good of the previous weeks. Small amounts of strictly controlled shopping will help to avoid wasting an entire pay check at the mall.

I've been working on my Master Plan more today, and I've worked out some details where I can. I'm going to set weekly and monthly sub-goals and check lists to help keep me on track. I think the check lists will be the biggest help - for some reason, marking something off a list gives me a great deal of pleasure. Being able to track my daily and weekly accomplishments and mark them off will help to motivate me towards the larger ones. I think I'm going to show my Master Plan to Brent tomorrow afternoon when he gets home from Vegas. I'm fairly certain he doesn't read this blog, and I know I haven't told him about it yet. I'm excited to hear his input on my plan, but also a little nervous - I need him to be supportive of this. He sometimes has a tendency to be a little less than sensitive about certain things (as with all males), and this is really important to me. I hope he understands that.

It's late, and I should sleep... but I think I will clean our room and fold some laundry first. I haven't been sleeping well lately, and I've been having disturbing dreams. I can't decide which is worse: insomnia or nightmares. What do you think?
