Breaking the laws of fashion, one bogus rule at a time.

So what if it was 90-something degrees last Thursday? My office is freezing year round, and these faux leather skinny pants are lined anyway. Pretty sure I could care less if some archaic law of fashion etiquette states that leather garments are a faux pas come the warmer months; I've never claimed to be anything more or less than a walking jumble of contradictions.

Entirely too sleep deprived to write a proper post, but as I was getting a little behind on posting, I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep soundly until I put this anti-summer ensemble up. The sociality of the last few days has taken precedence over my online life, as has my rapidly increasing need for sleep. I've read about the effects of prolonged sleep deprivation, but I have developed a deeper understanding of the gravity of these effects now that I am experiencing them firsthand. My memory is shot, attention span almost non-existent (though, to be honest, there wasn't much there to begin with), and I can feel my overall mental capacity diminishing more and more. I've even started hallucinating, on an alarmingly regular basis.

What I'm trying to say, kids, is say no to drugs - stay home and get some sleep.

These photos are from the lovely City Creek Center, the new mall in downtown Salt Lake City. They are all taken with my phone, out the window of a moving vehicle. This lucky girl won a $200 trip to the dental surgeon to have a wisdom tooth pulled today. Thus the lack of outfit postage, and also the general lack of enthusiasm tonight. I couldn't even muster up the energy to go inside the mall - that alone should tell you how non-awesome I felt post-non-op.

I did look pretty smashing, though. I wore my new Zara printed trousers and a bright blue tunic tank; felt like PJ's to me, but I received more than a few random compliments and the dental assistant ladies all thought I looked snazzy. Well, duh - this is me we're talking about, after all.

On a less lighthearted note, there happens to be a lot going on up inside my pretty little head tonight. I'm too exhausted and still too close to it to explore it right now, but I feel so inescapably unprotected beneath this impending sense of doom I refuse to accept defeat as the only possible outcome.

Slightly undercooked french fries count as soft, non-solid foods, right?

let's try this again...

I hope everyone had a lovely Memorial Day weekend! I spent most of mine laying around the house because of my ear issues, but I did go to breakfast Sunday morning with my family (a few of them, anyway!).

Last night I spent 45 minutes or so typing a post using the Blogger app on my phone, which subsequently force closed multiple times, refused to publish the post and caused me a great deal of frustration. I've had issues publishing photos through it in the past as well. Normally, I heart Google and all it's progeny, so I thought I'd give it one more shot before I give up on it.

Work is going well. I really like my co-workers and the vibe in my office. Everyone is super casual and laid back... I like it. I manage to keep pretty busy without being overwhelmed, nor is it mind numbingly boring. It's a good place for me right now.

I went to the doctor Saturday. She said my ear drum is ruptured, and put me on some new heavy duty antibiotics. It's not quite as painful as it was last week, and it finally stopped oozing, but being deaf in one ear is disconcerting. The doctor said my hearing should come back in about a month, but in the meantime it's frustrating.

I've been playing with my skincare and make up routine a lot lately, and I'm really liking some of the products I'm finding. I'll include some photos and more details in my next post, but in the meantime, here's a photo I took yesterday after doing my make up:
