designer daydreams: awards ceremony edition

This is what I would wear if I were ever to go to an awards ceremony like the Oscars. The black dress + black shoes + black clutch combo seems fairly tame, but I think the blingy, quirky jewelry amps up the personality and glam factors by quite a bit. I couldn't find the exact belt that I wanted - just a simple chain - so I subbed this one in. And those shoes are just beautiful. But they're Alexander McQueen, which means they're $880, which means that they are way outside my budget. I would probably kill myself in them, but I would die happy.

My newest obsession is using the Polyvore editor to play around with different looks, and I'm thinking of coming up with some different possibilities: the cheapest, the weirdest, the sexiest, etc. I'd say this one is the most classic and elegant. If I didn't have to watch my nephew, I'm pretty sure I'd kill the whole weekend on Polyvore...
